About Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a safe, chemical free, non-invasive method of skin resurfacing suitable for both men and women who want healthy, younger-looking skin. At Spa Namaste, we use diamond microdermabrasion. The diamond tip in the hand-held wand gently exfoliates the skin particles of the epidermis, which are whisked away by a vacuum. Diamond microdermabrasion is far more comfortable and safer than the older crystal method. Microdermabrasion removes old, dead skin in order to allow your new young healthy skin beneath to shine through. Removing the dead skin also allows your pores to breath and helps to clear up acne.

This non-surgical procedure helps the following conditions:
  • Skin that has been damaged by the sun
  • Aging skin that shows wrinkles, lines, and age spots
  • Skin with pigmentation marks
  • Acne skin and acne scarring

Spa Namaste offers a full one-hour Microdermabrasion facial with massage to the arm, head, neck and shoulders, and steam treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which chemical peel is right for me?
Schedule a free consultation and let our Medical Estheticians help you. We can create a skin care plan that's tailored to your specific needs and goals.

Is there any down time after a chemical peel?
You will experience flaking for 2-5 days after your chemical peel. This can be anywhere from light flaking to moderate flaking depending on the strength of the peel you choose. It Is recommended that you avoid the sun, sauna, gym, wearing making or washing your face for the first 24 hours after your peel.

Will there be any down time after my Microdermabrasion Treatment?
There is no down time after your treatment and you can return to your regular routine right away. Skin may have a slight redness or flushed look directly after, but will return back to normal quickly. Many people refer to Micro as the “Lunch Time Facelift” because of the quick recovery time compared to a chemical peel.

How many Microdermabrasion treatments do I need?
Results are often visible after the first session, but it is recommended to book 7-10 treatments spaced out 2 weeks apart. You will see improvements with each session. Maintenance may be required every 2-3 months to maintain results.

You are NOT a good candidate for Microdermabrasion if:
You are pregnant, you have active keloids, undiagnosed lesions, a recent herpes outbreak, warts on the face, skin cancer, sunburns, eczema, an auto-immune system disorder, or unstable diabetes.
*Please advise your Medical Esthetician of any allergies or skin sensitivities prior to beginning your treatment.
